Items 1-4: Valve Spring Retainer Keys, Valve Spring Retainer, Valve Springs, and Valve Stem Seals Removal Note

NOTE: Carry out the following steps for each cylinder requiring service.

NOTE: Position the piston of the cylinder to be serviced at the bottom of the stroke.

Use compressed air in the cylinder to hold both valves in position.

NOTE: The three rear-most followers on the RH side must use special tool 303-567 in the same manner as is shown in the illustration.

Using the special tools, compress the valve spring.
Remove the valve spring retainer keys, the valve spring retainers, the valve spring and if necessary the valve stem seal.
