Removal & Installation

- Remove front brake rotor. See FRONT BRAKE ROTOR .
- Remove the ABS sensor bolt. Position the sensor out of the way. See Fig 1 .
- Separate the tie rod end from the wheel knuckle. See Fig 2
.
- Remove the cotter pin.
- Remove the nut.
- Using special tool, separate the tie rod end from the wheel knuckle.
- Separate the suspension lower ball joint from the knuckle. See Fig 3
.
- Remove the cotter pin.
- Remove the nut.
- Separate the suspension lower ball joint from the wheel knuckle.
- Separate the axle hub from the wheel knuckle. See Fig 4
.
- Remove the cotter pin and remove the nut.
- Using 2-Jaw Puller (D80L-1002-L), or equivalent, separate the axle hub from the wheel knuckle.
- Remove the lower strut nuts and bolts from the wheel knuckle. See Fig 5 .
- Remove the wheel knuckle.
- Remove the snap ring from the wheel knuckle. See Fig 6 .
- Using Bearing Puller Adapter (D84L-1123-A), or equivalent, press the hub and bearing out of the knuckle. See Fig 7 .
- Remove the front disc brake rotor shield from the front-wheel knuckle with a suitable tool. See Fig 8 .
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Install the front disc brake rotor shield.
- Position the special tools on the front disc brake rotor shield and under the front-wheel knuckle.
- Use a suitable press to install the front disc brake rotor shield.
- To complete installation, reverse remaining disassembly procedures. Tighten fasteners to specification. See DISC BRAKE SPECIFICATIONS .
