Anti-Theft - Perimeter Alarm System: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Mercury Monterey and 2004 Ford Freestar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The anti-theft perimeter protection feature is controlled by the smart junction box (SJB). The alarm can be armed using the LOCK button on the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter; or by locking the vehicle with the key in the driver door lock cylinder, the keypad or using the power door lock switch with the accompanying door open by pressing 7/8 and 9/0 simultaneously. The SJB will then monitor all features, which will activate the alarm in the event of an unauthorized entry.

The perimeter alarm can only be disarmed using the RKE transmitter or the driver door lock cylinder switch, or by cycling to RUN a valid programmed key in the ignition switch or by entering the correct vehicle unlock code on the keypad.

If any of the above features receives any activation once the alarm has been armed, the alarm will activate the visual and audible alerts.
