Parking, Rear Or License Lamps

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Mercury Monterey and 2004 Ford Freestar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

All parking, rear license and marker lamps are controlled by the SJB. The headlamp switch is hard-wired to the SJB. When the headlamp switch is in the headlamps ON or parking lamps ON position, SJB processes this information and outputs the appropriate command to the parking or license lamps, which are hard-wired to the SJB. Only the left and right rear lamps provide lamp outage indication. Fault management of the parking lamps provides rear parking lamp functionality in the event of certain multifunction switch, headlamp switch, ignition switch or SJB failures.
