Removal & Installation: Accumulator-Drier: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Discharge A/C system, using approved recovery/recycling equipment. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Disconnect A/C cycling switch connector. See Fig 1. Disconnect refrigerant line couplings. See Fig 2. Plug refrigerant line openings.
  2. Using a backup wrench, disconnect accumulator-drier from evaporator core tube. Remove accumulator-drier bracket clamp screw and remove accumulator-drier. See Fig 3. Drill one 0.52" (13 mm) hole in accumulator-drier cylinder and drain oil into a calibrated container.
