Removal & Installation

CAUTION:
Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect the performance of vital components and systems and their failure can result in major service expense. A new part with the same part number must be installed. Do not use a new part of lesser quality or of a substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct retention of these parts.
NOTE:
Use the hex holding feature to prevent the stud from turning while removing the nut from ball joints and stabilizer bar links.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to IDENTIFICATION CODES .
- Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
To remove individual parts only, carry out the listed steps:
PARTS REMOVAL STEPSPart Steps Wheel hub and bearing assembly 1-3 Knuckle 1-8 Lower arm 7, 9-10 Wheel stud 1-3, 11 - To install, reverse the removal procedure.
