Pinpoint Test C: A Single Door Lock Is Inoperative

- C1 CHECK CIRCUIT 1383 (RD) OR CIRCUIT 117 (PK/BK) FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect: Smart Junction Box (SJB) C2280b.
- Disconnect: Suspect Door Lock Actuator Connector.
- If the driver side door lock actuator is inoperative, measure the resistance between the driver door lock actuator C525 pin 2, circuit 1383 (RD), harness side and ground; and between the driver door lock actuator C525 pin 2, circuit 1383 (RD), harness side and the smart junction box (SJB) C2280b pin 9, circuit 1383 (RD), harness side.
- If the passenger side door lock actuator is inoperative, measure the resistance between the passenger door lock actuator C603 pin 2, circuit 117 (PK/BK), harness side and ground; and between the passenger door lock actuator C603 pin 2, circuit 117 (PK/BK), harness side and the SJB C2280b pin 13, circuit 117 (PK/BK), harness side.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the door lock actuator connector and ground and less than 5 ohms between the door lock actuator and the SJB connector?
- Yes : GO to C2.
- No : REPAIR the circuit in question. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- C2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1384 (LB) OR CIRCUIT 118 (PK/OG) FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect: SJB C2280c.
- If the driver side door lock actuator is inoperative, measure the resistance between the driver door lock actuator C525 pin 1, circuit 1384 (LB), harness side and ground; and between the driver door lock actuator C525 pin 1, circuit 1384 (LB), harness side and the SJB C2280c pin 7, circuit 1384 (LB), harness side.
- If the passenger side door lock actuator is inoperative, measure the resistance between the passenger door lock actuator C603 pin 1, circuit 118 (PK/OG), harness side and ground; and between the passenger door lock actuator C603 pin 1, circuit 118 (PK/OG), harness side and the SJB C2280c pin 12, circuit 118 (PK/OG), harness side.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the door lock actuator connector and ground and less than 5 ohms between the door lock actuator and the SJB connector?
- Yes : GO to C3.
- No : REPAIR the circuit in question. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- C3 CHECK THE SUSPECT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR OPERATION
- Connect a 5A fused jumper wire between the suspect door lock actuator connector pin 1, component side and the battery positive terminal; and between the suspect door lock actuator connector pin 2, component side and ground.
- Connect a 5A fused jumper wire between the suspect door lock actuator connector pin 2, component side and the battery positive terminal; and between the suspect door lock actuator connector pin 1, component side and ground.
- Does the door lock actuator operate correctly?
- Yes : GO to C4.
- No : INSTALL a new door lock actuator. REFER to DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- C4 CHECK THE SJB FOR CORRECT OPERATION
- Disconnect all SJB connectors.
- Check for:
- Corrosion
- Pushed-out pins
- Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
