Pinpoint Test D: The One Touch Down Feature Is Inoperative

  1. D1 RETRIEVE THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) 
    • Carry out the SJB On-Demand Self Test.
    • Are any DTCs recorded? 
    1. Yes  : If DTC B1398, GO to  D3.

      If DTC B1400, GO to  D3.

      If DTC B1342, INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.

    2. No  : GO to D2.
  2. D2 CHECK THE ONE TOUCH DOWN RELAY 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: One Touch Down Relay.
    • Carry out the one touch down relay component test.

      Refer to the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for schematic and connector information.

    • Did the one touch down relay pass the component test? 
    1. Yes  : GO to D3.
    2. No  : INSTALL a new one touch down relay. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. D3 CHECK THE ONE TOUCH DOWN RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO POWER 
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between one touch down relay connector C2051 pin 2, harness side and ground.

    • Is voltage present? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self -test.
    2. No  : GO to D4.
  4. D4 CHECK SJB CIRCUIT 400 (LB/BK) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay C2058.
    • Measure the resistance between one touch down relay connector C2051 pin 1, circuit 400 (LB/BK), harness side and accessory delay relay C2058 pin 87, circuit 400 (LB/BK) harness side. Measure the resistance between one touch down relay connector C2051 pin 5, circuit 400 (LB/BK), harness side and accessory delay relay C2058 pin 87, circuit 400 (LB/BK) harness side.

    • Are both resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to D5.
    2. No  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.
  5. D5 CHECK FOR CORRECT MODULE OPERATION 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280C.
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280D.
    • Check for:
      • Corrosion.
      • Damage or pushed-out pins.
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they are seated correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify if the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self -test.
