Pinpoint Test B: Single Power Window Is Inoperative - Driver Power Window

- B1 CHECK CIRCUIT 400 (LB/BK) FOR VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Driver Window Control Switch C504.
- Measure the voltage between driver window control switch C504-2, circuit 400 (LB/BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : GO to B2.
- No : GO to B5.
- B2 CHECK THE GROUND TO THE DRIVER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH - CIRCUIT 57 (BK)
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between driver window control switch C504-5, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to B3.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B3 CHECK THE DRIVER POWER WINDOW SWITCH
- Remove the driver window control switch.
- Carry out the driver window control switch component test.
Refer to the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for schematic and connector information.
- Did the driver window control switch pass the component test?
- Yes : GO to B4.
- No : INSTALL a new driver window control switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B4 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT THE DRIVER WINDOW MOTOR
- Connect: Driver Window Control Switch C504.
- Disconnect: Driver Window Motor C524.
- Key in ON position.
- Press the driver window control switch to the UP position while measuring the voltage between driver window motor C524-1, circuit 992 (WH/BK) harness side and ground. Press the driver window control switch to the DOWN position while measuring the voltage between driver window motor C524-2, circuit 903 (RD) harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts on both circuits?
- Yes : INSTALL a new driver window motor. REFER to MOTOR AND WINDOW REGULATOR . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B5 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
- Carry out the accessory delay relay component test.
Refer to the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for schematic and connector information .
- Did the accessory delay relay pass the component test?
- Yes : GO to B6.
- No : INSTALL a new accessory delay relay. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B6 CHECK THE VOLTAGE SOURCE TO THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
- Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between accessory delay relay C2050, pin 85 and ground; and between accessory delay relay C2050, pin 30 and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts on both circuits?
- Yes : GO to 7.
- No : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.
- B7 CHECK CIRCUIT 400 (LB/BK) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: SJB C2280c.
- Measure the resistance between driver window control switch C504-2, circuit 400 (LB/BK), harness side and SJB C2280c-20, circuit 400 (LB/BK).
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to B8.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B8 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY GROUND
- Connect: SJB C2280C.
- Measure the resistance between accessory delay relay C2050, pin 86 and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to B9.
- No : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.
- B9 CHECK FOR CORRECT MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect: SJB C2280C.
- Disconnect: SJB C2280D.
- Check for:
- Corrosion.
- Damage or pushed-out pins.
- Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they are seated correctly.
- Operate the system and verify if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self -test.
