Pinpoint Test H: The STOPLAMPS Are On Continuously

  1. H1 CHECK CIRCUIT 64 (DG) FOR A SHORT TO POWER 
    • Disconnect: Battery Junction Box (BJB) Fuse 38 (7.5A).
    • Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate? 
    1. Yes  : GO to H2.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal.
  2. H2 CHECK CIRCUIT 52 (YE) FOR A SHORT TO POWER 
    • Disconnect: BJB Fuse 42 (7.5A).
    • Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate? 
    1. Yes  : GO to H3.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal.
  3. H3 CHECK THE BRAKE PEDAL POSITION (BPP) SWITCH 
    • Disconnect: BPP Switch C278.
    • Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate? 
    1. Yes  : GO to H4.
    2. No  : INSTALL a new BPP switch. REFER to BRAKE PEDAL POSITION (BPP) SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. H4 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH 
    • Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202a.
    • Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate? 
    1. Yes 

      If the high mounted stoplamp is on continuously, REPAIR circuit 511 (LG). TEST the system for normal operation.

      If the LH rear lamp is on continuously, REPAIR circuit 9 (LG/OG). TEST the system for normal operation.

      If the RH rear lamp is on continuously, REPAIR circuit 5 (OG/LB). TEST the system for normal operation.

    2. No  : INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES . TEST the system for normal operation.
