Removal and Installation

- Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
- Remove the center instrument panel finish panel.
- Remove the screws.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the screws and remove the hood latch release handle.
- Remove the screws and remove the instrument panel steering column cover.
- Remove the bolts and the lower instrument panel reinforcement.
- If equipped, position the column-mounted transmission range selector lever aside.
- Remove the screws and pull the instrument cluster finish panel out from the instrument panel.
- Disconnect the headlamp and the dimmer switch electrical connectors and remove the instrument cluster finish panel.
- Remove the instrument cluster screws.
- If equipped with an automatic transmission, remove the transmission range indicator.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the instrument cluster.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
