Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Relieve the fuel pressure. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  3. NOTE: Intake manifold removed for clarity.

  4. Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.
  5. NOTE: Intake manifold removed for clarity.

  6. Disconnect the fuel injector harness from the fuel injector supply manifold.
  7. Disconnect the fuel tube spring lock safety clip.

  8. Disconnect the fuel tube. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  9. NOTE: Intake manifold removed for clarity.
  10. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold.
    • Remove the bolts and the spacer insulators.
    • Remove the manifold.

  11. Remove the fuel injectors.
    1. Remove the retaining clip.
    2. Remove the fuel injector.

  12. CAUTION: Use O-ring seals that are made of special fuel-resistance material. Use of ordinary O-ring seals can cause the fuel system to leak. Do not reuse the O-ring seals.

  13. Install new O-ring seals.
  14. NOTE: Lubricate the new O-ring seals with clean engine oil.
  15. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
