Exhaust Manifold: Installation

- Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
- Install the exhaust manifold and the nuts.
- Position the coolant tube and install the nuts.
- Position the FEAD bracket and install the bolts in the sequence shown in two stages.
- Stage 1: Install the bolts finger tight.
- Stage 2: Tighten the bolts to 47 N.m (35 lb-ft).
- Connect the alternator electrical connectors.
- Position the right inner splash shield and install the pushpins.
- Install the front coolant outlet pipe and install the bolts.
- Install the oil level indicator tube assembly and the lower bolt.
- Install the oil level indicator tube upper bolt and the oil indicator.
- Connect the heater hose.
- Install the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to AIR CONDITIONING .
- Connect the upper radiator hose and the engine reservoir hose.
- Install the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to SPECIFICATIONS & DRIVE BELT ROUTING .
- Install the exhaust flange nuts.
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Fill and bleed the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
NOTE:
Raise and lower the vehicle as necessary to access the bolts.
