Pinpoint Test C: No Power In Run

  1. C1 CHECK THE POWER SUPPLY TO THE IGNITION SWITCH 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Ignition Switch C250.
    • Measure the voltage between the ignition switch C250, harness side and ground as follows:
      Ignition Switch C250 Circuit
      Pin B1 37 (YE)
      Pin B2 37 (YE)
      Pin B4 37 (YE)
      Pin B5 37 (YE)

    • Are the voltages greater than 10 volts? 
    1. Yes  : GO to C2.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
  2. C2 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH 
    • Carry out the ignition switch component test;

      Refer to the appropriate COMPONENT TESTING article for schematic and connector information.

    • Does the ignition switch test OK ? 
    1. Yes  : GO to C3.
    2. No  : INSTALL a new ignition switch. REFER to IGNITION SWITCH . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
  3. C3 CHECK THE POWER SUPPLY TO THE SJB 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280b.
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280c.
    • Connect: Ignition Switch C250.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between the SJB connectors, harness side and ground as follows:
      SJB Connectors Circuit
      C2280b pin 17 687 (GY/YE)
      C2280b pin 29 1050 (LG/VT)
      C2280c pin 32 297 (BK/LG)

    • Are the voltages greater than 10 volts? 
    1. Yes  : GO to C4.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
  4. C4 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all SJB connectors.
    • Check for:
      • Corrosion
      • Pushed-out pins
    • Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
