Component Steps Exterior door handle 1-3,5,7-9 Door lock cylinder 1-6 Front door latch 1-4, 7, 10-13 Interior door handle 1-4, 7, 10-15 - Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
When a new lock cylinder is installed, the luggage compartment lid lock cylinder and ignition lock cylinder should be installed as a set. This will eliminate carrying an extra key which will fit only one lock. If a new key is to be used, the new key code number is stamped on a metal tag attached to the key.
NOTE:
Individual lock cylinders are repaired by discarding the inoperative cylinder and building a new lock cylinder using the appropriate lock repair package. The lock repair package includes a detailed instruction sheet to build the new lock cylinder to the current key code of the vehicle.
