Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE - 3.9L to continue the diagnosis.
  3. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 2: CHT Sensor Removal Note 

  1. The tip of the CHT contacts the cylinder head at the bottom of the hole. When removed, it will be slightly crushed. This is a normal condition.

Item 2: CHT Sensor Installation Note 

  1. The CHT sensor is not to be reused. Always install a new sensor.
