Removal and Installation

- Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Item 2: Brake Caliper Removal Note
- Remove the parking brake cable end from the parking brake lever arm.
- Disconnect the parking brake cable and conduit from the brake caliper.
- Remove the caliper flow bolt and copper washers. Discard the copper washers.
Item 3: Brake Pads Removal Note
- Using the special tool, compress the brake caliper piston and adjuster into the disc brake caliper. Align the piston notch in the up and down position.
Item 6: Brake Disc Removal Note
- Measure the brake disc and resurface as necessary. Install a new brake disc if not within specification.
CAUTION:
If it is necessary to machine the brake disc, only use a hub-mount brake lathe.
Item 8: Brake Disc Shield Removal Note
- Drill out the rivets.
CAUTION:
Use a 5.5 mm (0.22 in) drill. Do not exceed past a 6 mm (0.24 in) drill.
