Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) Sensor And Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor: Removal

  1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
  2. Remove the rear transmission mount nuts.

  3. Position the high lift transmission jack under the transmission.
  4. CAUTION: Be sure not to raise the back of the transmission too high, if it makes contact with the underbody, damage to the TSS and OSS sensors will occur.
  5. Remove the rear transmission mount.
    1. Raise the transmission up off the rear crossmember support.
    2. Remove the bolts.
    3. Remove the rear transmission mount.

  6. Lower the transmission to gain access to the turbine shaft speed (TSS) sensor, and the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor.

  7. Remove the turbine shaft sensor (TSS).
    1. Remove the bolt.
    2. Remove the turbine shaft sensor (TSS).

  8. Remove the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    2. Remove the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor.
