Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the battery tray. For additional information, refer to BATTERY TRAY  .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  3. Remove the fuse junction box cover.

  4. Remove the cables.
    1. Remove the nuts and the cable.
    2. Release the lock clip and pull down on the connector.

  5. Remove the bolt from the inner fender.

  6. Remove the bolt holding the ground cable to the transaxle.

  7. Disconnect the harness clip.

  8. Disconnect the harness clip at the back of the engine.

  9. Remove the cable clip from under the battery support.

  10. Raise and support the vehicle.
  11. Remove the cable ends from the starter solenoid.
    1. Remove the upper nut.
    2. Remove the lower nut.

  12. Remove the nut and the cable end from the generator B+ connector.

  13. Remove the battery cable harness assembly.
  14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
