Other Concerns: Transaxle Overheating

Possible Component Reference/Action
243- ELECTRICAL ROUTINE 
Refer to Routine 240/340, torque converter operation concern: no apply 
343- HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL ROUTINE 
Fluid 
  • Improper level
  • Adjust fluid to proper level.
  • Condition
  • Inspect fluid.
Cooler Lines 
  • Damaged, blocked, reversed, leaking
  • Inspect. Install new components as necessary.
Auxiliary Cooler 
  • Damaged, blocked, restricted or improperly installed
  • Inspect. Install new components as necessary.
Vehicle Concerns Causing Engine Overheating 
 
  • Refer to ENGINE COOLING .
Main Control Valve Body 
  • Torque converter clutch valve-stuck, damaged
  • Inspect. Install new components as necessary.
Torque Converter Not Applying 
  • Seized Converter One-Way Clutch
  • See Routine 240/340. Inspect - Install new components as necessary.
Excessive Towing Loads 
 
  • Check gross vehicle weight (GVW).
Idle or Performance Concern 
 
Improper Clutch or Band Application or Oil Pressure Control System 
 
  • Perform Line Pressure Tests and Shift Point Road Test; refer to the procedure. Repair as required.
