Powertrain Control System
Electrical inputs/outputs, vehicle wiring harnesses, transaxle control module (TCM), EPC solenoid, TPS, TFT, digital TR sensor, internal harness	Run on-board diagnostic. Refer to SELF-DIAGNOSTICS for diagnosis.
304 - HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL ROUTINE
Improper Pressures
Low line pressure	Perform Line Pressure and Stall Speed Tests; refer to the LINE PRESSURE CHART table for specifications. If pressures are low, check the following possible components: main control valve body, pump assembly, and fluid tubes.
Fluid level
Improper level-low	Adjust fluid to correct level.
2-4 Band
Improper adjustment.	Inspect and adjust as necessary.
Main Control Valve Body
Bolts out of torque specification	Tighten bolts to specification.
Gaskets and separator plate-damaged, off location	Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Manual control valve, main regulator valve-missing, damaged, incorrectly assembled	Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Pump Assembly
Bolts out of torque specification	Tighten bolts to specification.
Porosity/cross leaks, pump assembly leaking	Install a new pump assembly.
Gaskets damaged, off location	Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary
Components damaged	Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Clutch Assemblies
	Carry out Air Pressure Test; refer to DIAGNOSTICS .
Seals, piston, worn, damaged	Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Dish plate damaged, missing, or incorrectly installed	Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Friction elements damaged or worn	Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary. Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Retainer spring damaged or worn.
Accumulators
Piston, separator plate, seals damaged, leaking	Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Internal Fluid Leakage
Fluid leakage past any damaged or worn seals	Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
