Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal: Removal

  1. Remove the transmission. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION-4R70W .
  2. Remove the bolts, spacers and flexplate.

  3. CAUTION: Do not bend the rear retaining plate during crankshaft rear oil seal removal.

  4. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal retaining bolts and the crankshaft rear oil seal.
  5. Inspect the crankshaft rear oil seal, wear sleeve and alignment dowel pins for damage. Install new as necessary.
