Valve Cover RH: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  3. Disconnect the differential pressure feedback exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system electrical connector and the wiring harness pin-type retainer.

  4. Remove the ignition coil. For additional information, refer to IGNITION COILS .
  5. Disconnect the radio interference capacitor and position the wire aside.

  6. Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  7. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve/heater water hose assembly and position aside.

  8. Disconnect the PCV hose at the intake.

  9. Remove the engine lifting eye.

  10. Disconnect the spark plug separators from the valve covers and position the spark plug wires aside.

  11. Remove the valve cover and discard the gasket.

  12. Clean the cover mating surface with metal surface cleaner.
