Driveshaft - Rear Two-Piece: Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Index-mark the driveshaft to the rear axle pinion flange.
- Remove four bolts, and disconnect and remove the rear driveshaft section.
- Support the coupling shaft, and remove the two center bearing bracket retaining bolts.
- Lock the parking brake.
- For E450 and E550 vehicles, index-mark the components and remove the four coupling driveshaft bolts from the parking brake assembly.
- Separate the coupling shaft from the parking brake assembly.

If a new output flange on the parking brake assembly needs to be installed, refer to PARKING BRAKE & ACTUATION
