Side Curtain Air Bag Module: Installation

- Position side air bag module in vehicle and engage side curtain air bag alignment ear in opening at top of A-pillar. Install pin-type retainers "A", "B", "C" and "D" in order.
- Install side curtain air bag retaining screws "A", "B", "C" "D" and "E" in order. Tighten side curtain air bag retaining screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Engage engage side curtain air bag electrical connector retainer in opening in A-pillar.
- Install side curtain air bag retaining screws "F", "G" and "H" in order. Position passenger assist handle bracket(s) in vehicle and install pin-type retainers "E" and "F". Install passenger assist handle bracket retaining screws "I" and "J".
- Remove air bag simulator from side curtain air bag harness connector and reconnect connectors. Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all remaining deployable air bag system devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
