General Activating Procedure (Seats Installed-with Side Curtain AIR Bags)

- Ensure negative battery cable is disconnected. Remove air bag simulators from left and right seat belt pretensioners and reconnect connectors. Reinstall removed trim and components. Remove air bag simulators from left- and right-side or side thorax air bag connectors.
- Connect negative battery cable. Move front seats to rearward position. Disconnect negative battery cable and wait at least one minute. On models equipped with side curtain air bags, remove air bag simulators from side curtain air bag harness connectors and reconnect connectors. Reinstall A-pillar trim.
- On models equipped with side or side thorax air bags, Remove air bag simulators from left and right-side or side thorax air bags and reconnect connectors. On all models, remove air bag simulator from passenger-side air bag module harness connector and reconnect connectors. Reinstall glove box. Remove air bag simulators from clockspring connectors. Install driver-side air bag module.
- Connect negative battery cable. With all deployable air bag system devices installed and connected, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Perform computer relearn procedure. See COMPUTER RELEARN . Reprogram pre-set radio frequencies and set clock.
