Exhaust Manifold: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING article.
- Remove the exhaust flexible pipe. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM -- FUSION, MILAN & MKZ article.
- Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
- Remove the 4 exhaust manifold heat shield bolts and the heat shield.
- If equipped, detach the block heater wire harness retainer from the exhaust manifold stud.
- Remove and discard the 7 exhaust manifold nuts.
- Remove the exhaust manifold and discard the exhaust manifold gasket.
- Remove and discard the 7 cylinder head studs.
