Pinpoint Test AF: The Turn Signal On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. AF1 CHECK THE LCM CONFIGURATION 
    • Verify the turn signal on warning chime is enabled.
    • Is the turn signal warning chime enabled? 
    1. YES  : Go to  AF2.
    2. NO  : ENABLE the turn signal on warning chime function. REFER to MODULE CONFIGURATION article. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. AF2 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE TURN SIGNALS 
    • Key in ON position.
    • Operate the turn signals.
    • Do the turn signal lamps operate correctly? 
    1. YES  : Go to  AF3.
    2. NO  : REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING article to continue diagnosis of the turn signal lamps.
  3. AF3 CHECK FOR RECORDED ABS MODULE DTCs 
    • Check for recorded ABS DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests.
    • Are any ABS module DTCs present? 
    1. YES  : REFER to VEHICLE DYNAMIC SYSTEMS article to continue diagnosis of the ABS module.
    2. NO  : Go to  AF4.
  4. AF4 CHECK FOR CORRECT LCM OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all LCM connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • damaged pins
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all LCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new LCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article.
    2. NO  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
