Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the steering column opening cover. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL -- EXPLODED VIEW Instrument Panel - Exploded View .
  2. Remove the 3 screws and the lower steering column shroud.
  3. Disconnect the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) transceiver electrical connector.
  4. Using a suitable tool (such as a dentist pick), release the tabs and remove the PATS  transceiver.
  5. NOTE: Replacement of the PATS  transceiver does not require the PATS  keys to be programmed into the Instrument Cluster (IC) again.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
