KOEO On-Demand Self-Test: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Ford Pickup, 2004 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2004 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2004 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST is a functional test of PCM performed on demand with ignition on and engine off. This test will check that all inputs and outputs; (circuits, sensors, regulators, relays and solenoids) connected to PCM are electrically operating without fault, with exception to Injector Driver Module (IDM) DTCs. IDM stores both history and hard IDM DTCs. To ensure that IDM DTC is a hard fault, you must first clear Continuous Memory DTCs (ensure all DTCs are recorded before clearing). After clearing, repeat self-test. A fault must be present at time of testing for KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST to detect a fault. If a fault is detected, a DTC will be output at end of self-test when requested by scan tool. Only a hard fault DTC will be displayed.
