Exhaust Manifold - RH: Installation

  1. Install 6 new RH exhaust manifold studs.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  2. Position the catalytic converter heat shield into the engine compartment.
    NOTE: The catalytic converter heat shield must be positioned up into the engine compartment prior to installing the PTU bracket.
  3. Install the PTU  bracket and the 5 bolts.
    • Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-in).

  4. Install a new gasket, the RH exhaust manifold and 6 new nuts.
    • Tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in) in the sequence shown.

  5. Install the RH catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the EGR tube. For additional information, refer to ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL - 3.0L (4V) .
