Wheel Hub: Removal

All vehicles
- Remove the tire and wheel. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES article.
- Remove the 2 brake caliper anchor plate bolts and position the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly aside.
- Support the caliper and anchor plate assembly using mechanic's wire.
- Index-mark the brake disc.
- Remove the brake disc.
- Remove the axle shaft. For additional information, refer to Axle Shaft .
- Using the special tool, remove the hub nut.
- Remove the rear hub.
- Remove the rear hub and brake disc assembly.
NOTE:
Do not allow the caliper and anchor plate assembly to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.

NOTE:
Make sure that the drive tangs on the special tool engage the 4 slots of the hub nut.
