Engine Mount: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
  3. Remove the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING article.
  4. Remove the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL article.
  5. Remove the 2 power steering pump upper mounting bolts.

  7. Remove the LH fan stator stand-off.

    NOTE: The front bolt will remain in the power steering pump.
  9. Remove the 2 bolts and position the power steering pump aside.

  11. Remove the RH fan stator stand-off. Remove the bolt and position the cable aside.

  13. Remove and discard the 2 exhaust flange nuts.

  15. Remove the 4 motor mount-to-crossmember nuts.
  16. Remove the upper motor mount studs.

  18. Loosen the 8 motor mount-to-motor mount plate bolts for each motor mount.
  19. Install the Adapter.

  21. Install the Engine Lifting Attachment and Heavy Duty Floor Crane.

    NOTE: Use care when raising the engine to avoid engine or body damage.
  23. Raise the engine.
  24. Support the engine with jackstands or other suitable devices.
  25. Remove the 8 motor mount-to-motor mount plate bolts and the motor mounts.
