Pinpoint Test K: An Individual Button/Feature Is Inoperative From The RKE Transmitter

NOTE: The panic feature will only operate when the key is in the OFF position.
  1. K1 VERIFY THE DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    • Press the lock and unlock button from the driver door lock control switch while observing the door lock operation.
    • Do the door locks operate correctly? 
    1. YES  : Go to  K2.
    2. NO  : Go to Symptom Chart .
  2. K2 VERIFY THE HORN OPERATION 
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: SJB DataLogger
    • Select the SJB PID (HORN) and active command the horn on.
    • Does the horn sound when commanded on? 
    1. YES  : Go to  K3.
    2. NO  : REFER to HORN article.
  3. K3 VERIFY THE HAZARD LAMP OPERATION 
    • Place the hazard switch in the ON position.
    • Do the hazard lamps operate correctly? 
    1. YES  : Go to  K4.
    2. NO  : REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING article.
  4. K4 VERIFY THE LIFTGATE WINDOW LATCH OPERATION 
      NOTE: The doors must be unlocked electronically before verifying the liftgate window release operation.
    • Press the liftgate window release button.
    • Does the liftgate window release? 
    1. YES  : REPLACE the inoperative IKT and PROGRAM all of the IKTs. REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) article or ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) - HYBRID article. INFORM the customer that any IKTs not present need to be programmed. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : Go to Symptom Chart .
