Removal And Installation

  1. Close the roof opening panel glass.
  2. Remove the headliner. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION article.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    NOTE: Anytime a roof opening panel motor is removed, the cables/mechanisms can experience free-play movement. It is important that the cables do not move. They are timed to be parallel with each other.
  5. Remove the roof opening panel motor.
    1. Remove the 3 roof opening panel motor screws.
    2. Remove the roof opening panel motor.
      • To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

    NOTE: This step is only necessary if new roof opening panel motor does not come equipped with clip.
  7. If installing a new roof opening panel motor, transfer the clip from the existing motor to the new motor assembly.

    NOTE: A new roof opening panel motor is already synchronized to the CLOSED roof opening panel glass position. If the roof opening panel motor has been operated while removed from the roof opening panel assembly, it will be necessary to re-synchronize the roof opening panel motor. REFER to Motor Synchronization .
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
