Installation (Upper Intake &Intake Manifold Spacer Assembly)

NOTE:
If intake manifold spacer assembly was not removed, cooling system fill and bleed procedure will not be necessary. Go to step 3.
- Inspect intake manifold spacer assembly mounting gaskets. Install new gaskets, if necessary. See Fig 1. Install intake manifold spacer assembly. Tighten bolts in 2 steps, in proper sequence. See Fig 2 and TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect and/or install the following items:
- Intake manifold vacuum connector, EGR solenoid electrical and vacuum connectors.
- Reposition transmission oil level tube bracket and install retaining nut at intake manifold.
- Heater water hoses at intake manifold.
- PCV hose.
- VMV hose.
- Brake booster vacuum hose.
- TP sensor.
- Inspect upper intake manifold mounting gaskets. Install new gaskets, if necessary. See Fig 3. Install upper intake manifold. Tighten bolts in 2 steps in the proper sequence. See Fig 4 and TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect and/or install the following:
- Noting position during removal procedure, install spark plug wires and spark plug wire holders.
- Accelerator cable and speed control actuator cable, if equipped, to the cable bracket.
- Accelerator cable and speed control actuator cable, if equipped, to throttle body.
- Install IAC valve assembly and IAC valve connector.
- Using a NEW clip push pin, install accelerator control splash shield.
- Accelerator cable and speed control cable, if equipped, into retaining clip.
- Install engine cover. See ENGINE COVER under MISCELLANEOUS. Install air cleaner outlet tube. On vehicles with dual batteries, see DUAL BATTERIES under MISCELLANEOUS. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING under COOLING SYSTEM.
