P1635 (TCM) - Tire/Axle Out Of Acceptable Range

P1635 (TCM) - TIRE/AXLE OUT OF ACCEPTABLE RANGE

Description:  The TCM continuously monitors the CAN network for a revolutions per mile message from the PCM. This DTC is set when the TCM fails to receive the message within a defined time period, or when the message received is out of expected range. When this DTC is set the active motor damping is disabled.
Possible Causes: 
  • Incorrect tire size or gear ratio constants in the PCM
  • Incorrect VID configuration parameters
  • Damaged CAN bus circuit
Diagnostic Aids:  Using the scan tool, view the tire and axle parameters within the VID. They must match the vehicle hardware.
