Pinpoint Test AF: The Daytime Running Lamps Are On With The Ignition Switch Off

  1. AF1 CHECK THE HEADLAMP SYSTEM FOR A SHORT TO POWER 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: DRL Relay 3 C1000
    • Do the headlamps continue to illuminate? 
    1. YES  : REFER to Headlamps .
    2. NO  : Go to  AF2.
  2. AF2 CHECK THE DRL RELAY 3 
    • Carry out the relay component test for the DRL relay 3. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING article.
    • Is the DRL relay 3 OK? 
    1. YES  : Go to  AF3.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new DRL relay 3. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. AF3 CHECK CIRCUIT 1032 (WH/BK) FOR A SHORT TO POWER 
    • Connect: DRL Relay 3 C1000
    • Disconnect: DRL Relay 2 C1172
    • Do the DRL continue to illuminate? 
    1. YES  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : Go to  AF4.
  4. AF4 CHECK CIRCUIT 175 (BK/YE) FOR A SHORT TO POWER 
    • Connect: DRL Relay 2 C1172
    • Disconnect: DRL Relay 1 C1171
    • Do the DRL continue to illuminate? 
    1. YES  : REPAIR circuit 175 (BK/YE). TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : REPAIR circuit 295 (LB/BK). TEST the system for normal operation.
