- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
- Remove the air cleaner housing. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING article.
- Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR AND REGULATOR article.
- Remove the cooling fan shroud. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING article.
- If removing the RH engine support insulator, remove the starter. For additional information, refer to STARTING SYSTEM - GASOLINE ENGINES article.
- Install the special tools.
- Remove the 4 exhaust manifold-to-catalytic converter nuts.
- Loosen the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.
- Remove the 6 engine mount nuts.
- Using the special tools, raise the engine.
CAUTION:
Only use hand tools when removing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.
