Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the brake pads. For additional information, refer to Brake Pads  in this article.
  2. Remove and discard the 2 brake caliper anchor plate bolts.
    • To install (F-250, F-350), tighten to 225 Nm (166 lb-ft).
    • To install (F-450, F-550), tighten to 400 Nm (295 lb-ft).
  3. Inspect the brake caliper anchor plate assembly.
    • Check the guide pin boots for damage.
    • Check the guide pins for binding and damage.
    • If pins are worn or damaged, install new pins. Lubricate the pins with silicone grease.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
