Removal And Installation

CAUTION: Do not remove the ignition lock cylinder and the ignition switch at the same time or damage to the column can result.
  1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
  2. Remove the steering wheel. For additional information, refer to STEERING COLUMN article.
  3. Remove the lower steering column shroud screw.
  4. Apply inward pressure to the upper and lower steering column shroud cover seam to separate them and remove the lower shroud.

  5. Remove the 2 screws and the upper steering column shroud.
  6. Remove the screw, release the tab and position the multi-function switch aside.

  7. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
  8. Release the 2 locking tabs and remove the ignition switch.

  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  10. Repower the supplemental restraints system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
