Removal And Installation

CAUTION:
Do not remove the ignition lock cylinder and the ignition switch at the same time or damage to the column can result.
- Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
- Remove the steering wheel. For additional information, refer to STEERING COLUMN article.
- Remove the lower steering column shroud screw.
- Apply inward pressure to the upper and lower steering column shroud cover seam to separate them and remove the lower shroud.
- Remove the 2 screws and the upper steering column shroud.
- Remove the screw, release the tab and position the multi-function switch aside.
- Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
- Release the 2 locking tabs and remove the ignition switch.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Repower the supplemental restraints system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
