Pinpoint Test B: DTC B1360 - The Ignition Run/Acc Circuit Open, No Power In Run/Acc

CAUTION: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multi-meter probes.
  1. B1 CHECK THE VOLTAGE SUPPLY TO THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Instrument Cluster C220a
    • Disconnect: Instrument Cluster C220b
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between ground and:
      • instrument cluster C220a-5, circuit 1003 (GY/YE), harness side.
      • instrument cluster C220b-16, circuit 640 (RD/YE), harness side.
      • instrument cluster C220b-17, circuit 489 (PK/BK), harness side.
    • Are the voltages greater than 10 volts? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B2.
    2. NO  : Go to  B3.
  2. B2 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all the instrument cluster connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion.
      • pushed-out pins.
      • spread terminals.
    • Connect all the instrument cluster connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. B3 CHECK THE VOLTAGE CIRCUITS BETWEEN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE CENTRAL JUNCTION BOX (CJB) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Central Junction Box (CJB) C270e
    • Disconnect: CJB C270f
    • Measure the resistance between:
      • CJB C270e-14, circuit 1003 (GY/YE), harness side and instrument cluster C220a-5, circuit 1003 (GY/YE), harness side.
      • CJB C270f-7, circuit 640 (RD/YE), harness side and instrument cluster C220b-16, circuit 640 (RD/YE), harness side.
      • CJB C270f-2, circuit 489 (PK/BK), harness side and instrument cluster C220b-17, circuit 489 (PK/BK), harness side.
    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B4.
    2. NO  : VERIFY CJB fuses 1 (10A), 15 (5A) and 27 (5A) are OK. If OK, REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. B4 CHECK POWER CIRCUITS 297 (BK/LG) AND 964 (DB/LG) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: Central Junction Box (CJB) C270g
    • Disconnect: CJB C270h
    • Measure the resistance between:
      • CJB C270h-12, circuit 297 (BK/LG), harness side and ignition switch C250-6, circuit 297 (BK/LG), harness side.
      • CJB C270g-3, circuit 964 (DB/LG), harness side and instrument cluster C250-1, circuit 964 (DB/LG), harness side.
    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B5.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
  5. B5 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH 
    • Carry out the ignition switch component test. Refer to Component Test in this article.
    • Is the ignition switch OK ? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new central junction box (CJB). CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new ignition switch. REFER to Ignition Switch  in this article. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
