Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power steering components can result.
- Using a suitable suction device, siphon the power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir.
- Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering fluid reservoir.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering reservoir supply hose from the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering pressure line bracket-to-power steering fluid reservoir bolt and position the bracket aside.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Remove the 3 power steering fluid reservoir nuts and remove the reservoir.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Fill the power steering system. For additional information, refer to STEERING SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
NOTE:
It is easier to access the power steering reservoir-to-pump supply hose clamp from underneath the vehicle at the power steering pump.
