Belt Minder

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Montego, 2006 Ford Freestyle, and 2006 Ford Five Hundred. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Belt Minder feature is a supplemental warning to the safety belt warning function. This feature provides additional reminders by intermittently sounding a chime and illuminating the safety belt warning lamp in the instrument cluster when the driver and front passenger safety belts are unbuckled.

The passenger's safety Belt Minder feature is activated only when the occupant classification sensor (OCS) system detects a passenger in the right front seat and the passenger's weight exceeds a programmed limit. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .

To activate or deactivate the Belt Minder feature, refer to DEACTIVATING/ACTIVATING or owner literature.
