Pinpoint Test E: The Speed Control Does Not Disengage When The Clutch Is Applied - Gasoline Vehicles

  1. E1 CHECK THE CPP SWITCH OUTPUT 
    • Disconnect: PCM C175b.
    • Measure the resistance between the PCM C175b-32, circuit 306 (TN/LB), harness side and ground.

    • Is the is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 

    Yes  : Go to E2.

    No  : Go to  E3.

  2. E2 CHECK CIRCUIT 306 (TN/LB) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    • Disconnect: CPP Switch C257.
    • Measure the resistance between the PCM C175b-32, circuit 306 (TN/LB), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 

    Yes  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

    No  : Go to E3.

  3. E3 CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM OPERATION 

Yes  : INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - GASOLINE ENGINES .

No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
