Camshaft Runout

SPECIAL TOOL CHART

Dial Indicator Gauge with Holding Fixture
100-002 (TOOL-4201-C) or equivalent

NOTE: Camshaft journals must be within specifications before checking runout.

Use a Dial Indicator Gauge with Holding Fixture to measure the camshaft runout.
- Rotate the camshaft and subtract the lowest indicator reading from the highest indicator reading.
- For additional information, refer to ENGINE - 5.4L (3V) -- F250-F550 SUPER DUTY PICKUPS , ENGINE - 6.0L DIESEL -- F250-F550 SUPER DUTY PICKUPS or ENGINE - 6.8L (3V) -- F250-F550 SUPER DUTY PICKUPS .
- If out of specification, install new components as necessary. Refer to ENGINE - 5.4L (3V) -- F250-F550 SUPER DUTY PICKUPS , ENGINE - 6.0L DIESEL -- F250-F550 SUPER DUTY PICKUPS or ENGINE - 6.8L (3V) -- F250-F550 SUPER DUTY PICKUPS .
