Transfer Case Front Output Shaft Seal: Installation

  1. Using the special tools, install a new front output seal.

  2. Install the front flange and a new front driveshaft flange nut.
    • Use the special tool to prevent the flange from turning.
    • Tighten to 223 Nm (164 lb-ft).

    3. CAUTION: Align the index marks.
  3. Install the front driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT .
  4. Check and, if necessary, fill the transfer case with the specified fluid to the specified level. For additional information, refer to TRANSFER CASE DRAINING AND FILLING .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
