Axle Shaft Seal: Installation

  1. Install a new axle shaft dust seal.

  2. Install the new main seal onto the axle shaft.
    1. Position the main seal onto the axle shaft.
    2. Using the special tools and a soft-faced hammer, seat the main seal onto the axle shaft.

  3. Position the axle shaft into the shaft housing.
  4. Using the special tools and a soft-faced hammer, install the main seal into the wheel knuckle.

  5. Install the wheel hub and bearing. For additional information, refer to FRONT SUSPENSION - FOUR WHEEL DRIVE (4WD) .
