Test F: A Single Power Door Lock Is Inoperative (Passenger Doors)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: After making any repairs, retest system for proper operation.
  1. Manually operate inoperative door lock and check for binding or sticking door cylinder lock. If door cylinder lock is not binding or sticking, go to next step. If door lock is binding or sticking, repair or replace as necessary and retest system operation.
  2. Ensure ignition switch is in LOCK position. Remove door trim panel and disconnect suspect door lock actuator harness connector. Measure voltage between ground and suspect door lock actuator harness connector Pink/Black wire terminal while pressing door lock switch to LOCK position. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Pink/Black wire between all-lock relay and suspect door lock actuator. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  3. Measure voltage between ground and suspect door lock actuator harness connector Pink/Orange wire terminal while pressing door lock switch to UNLOCK position. If battery voltage exists, replace door lock actuator. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Pink/Orange wire between all-unlock relay and suspect door lock actuator. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
