Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the cotter pin and the tie-rod end nut.
    • To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
  3. Loosen the tie-rod end jam nut.
    • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  4. Using the special tool, separate the outer tie-rod end from the front wheel knuckle.

  5. Remove the tie-rod end.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
