Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the cotter pin and the tie-rod end nut.
- To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
- Loosen the tie-rod end jam nut.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Using the special tool, separate the outer tie-rod end from the front wheel knuckle.
- Remove the tie-rod end.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
